The John Saunders Competition is for a collection of up to seven printed images mounted on a single board. The images should show a theme and tell a story as the John Saunders Cup was set up for photojournalism.

The competition on 27 March 2023 was judged by member Mark Pells and the winner was John Buttress with four images entitled Blooming Marvellous.
