The Portraiture Group is for anyone who would like to improve their skills in taking pictures of people. The group generally meet outside of normal Camera Club meetings to allow time to set up lighting and props and work without the time constraints of a normal club evening.
We have worked with high key lit backgrounds, and more recently environmental portraiture in an historic building. Where we go next depends on the dynamic of the group. We try to arrange two shoots per year, and where possible we will book a professional model. There is usually a small contribution towards model costs depending on the size of the group.
The emphasis is on getting together and experimenting, rather than formal instruction, and so the group is suitable for both novice and more experienced photographers.
